Newmarket July Festival Betting Tips – 12th to 14th July 2018

Blurred Rachorse There are many mid-summer highlights in the flat racing calendar, from Chester to Royal Ascot and on to Glorious Goodwood. It is Newmarket which is the traditional home of British flat racing though and sandwiched in between that lot is the excellent three day July Meeting staged in early July each year.

As the title of the meeting - and indeed the time of year - would suggest, this extravaganza of equine action takes place on the July Course, as opposed to the Rowley Mile of the Guineas meeting. More undulating than the Rowley Mile, the course still features a steep climb to the winning post which will expose any chinks in the stamina of the contenders.

With 21 contests on offer in all then, including a number of high quality big field handicap contests, headlined by the always popular betting heat of the final day’s Bunbury Cup. For the purists it is the Group class contests – of which there are seven in total – which are the meeting’s main attraction, building to the speed-fest of the July Cup.
